In the Heart of the Green Venice, in the Wild Part of the Marais Poitevin

Located in the Deux-Sèvres, Le Domaine du Lidon is nestled in the heart of nature, at the crossroads of many canals in the Marais Poitevin. The campsite offers 140 grassy, spacious, and shaded pitches, spread over 2.5 hectares, with most being accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Just 3 km away, you’ll find Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud, the capital of the Wild Marsh. Labeled Station Verte, this village is the perfect starting point to explore the wild Green Venice. It offers various local shops (butcher, bakery, bar/tobacco shop, Coccimarket mini-supermarket, pharmacy…) and a weekly Sunday market, making it an ideal destination for eco-tourism while supporting the local economy.

In addition to pitches for tents, caravans, and motorhomes, we offer a variety of accommodations, including elevated lodge tents, canvas bungalows, standard lodge tents, mobile homes, chalets, and a ready-to-camp option. The campsite also rents out a traditional wooden roulotte. Electricity is available on selected tent pitches.

Many pitches are located by the water, offering direct access to the Green Venice for an unforgettable nature experience.

Our Campsite in the Marais Poitevin and Its Swimming Pool

Our campsite in the Marais Poitevin features a heated swimming pool in high season, with a paddling pool for the little ones. The pool is open from mid-June to mid-September. Around the pool, lounge chairs and parasols are available for complete relaxation.

We also offer two children’s play areas, equipped with slides, swings, and seesaws, as well as an inflatable play structure (available only in high season, weather permitting, and under adult supervision).

Le Lidon also has a games room for older children and adults, where you can enjoy a game of pool, shuffleboard, table football, pinball, and more. A ping-pong table and a boules court are also available.

A variety of activities and entertainment are organized for all ages, including nature walks, pottery workshops, fishing initiation, archery, wellness sessions, and other exciting surprises!

Explore the Marais Poitevin: Canals and Nature

Although there are no rivers in the Marais Poitevin, its canals and conches create a breathtaking landscape for nature lovers. The banks of these waterways are home to a rich and diverse ecosystem, featuring knotwillows (the emblematic tree of the Marais), as well as a variety of birds, insects, and fish.

Numerous hiking and cycling trails (bike rentals available) start directly from the campsite, allowing you to explore this unique environment at your own pace. You can also discover the Marais Poitevin from the water with a boat or canoe trip, available for rent directly from the campsite’s dock.
